Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains how TRISTAR collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
TRISTAR is the trading name of Tristar Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 05957613, registered office: 26 South Saint Mary's Gate, Grimsby, United Kingdom, DN31 1LW). For the purposes of data protection law, Tristar Consulting Ltd is the data controller for the information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us at mike@tristarconsulting.co.uk.
The information we collect
We only collect what we need. This is limited to:
- Information you give us directly — when you complete the contact form or email us, we collect your name, organisation, email address and the details of the challenge or enquiry you describe.
- Technical information — like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type for security and performance purposes.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- respond to your enquiry and discuss how we may be able to help;
- provide our services where we go on to work together; and
- keep appropriate records of our correspondence.
Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business, and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We do not use your details for marketing without your consent, and we never sell your data.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or trade your personal data. We do use a small number of trusted third-party providers who process data on our behalf to make the website and contact form work:
- Netlify — hosts this website.
- Web3Forms — processes contact form submissions and delivers them to us by email.
- Google Fonts — the fonts used on this site are served by Google, which means your browser contacts Google's servers when a page loads.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we expect appropriate safeguards to be in place to protect your information in line with UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose we collected it — typically for the duration of our correspondence and any resulting engagement, plus a reasonable period afterwards for our records and legal obligations. After that, it is securely deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing of your data;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw any consent you have given at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email mike@tristarconsulting.co.uk.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure and to prevent unauthorised access, loss or misuse. This website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection.
